Shared Proxy

A shared proxy is a proxy IP address that is simultaneously used by multiple customers who share the bandwidth and — critically — the IP's reputation. Because other users on the same IP may engage in aggressive scraping, spam, or other activity that triggers blocks, a shared proxy can be blacklisted due to someone else's behaviour, not yours. Shared proxies are significantly cheaper than dedicated proxies and are acceptable for low-stakes tasks where occasional blocks are tolerable. Most residential proxy pools are effectively shared in the sense that IPs rotate across customers, though the rotation minimises the shared reputation problem.
