Full Definition

A private proxy is synonymous with a dedicated proxy — an IP address used exclusively by one customer at a time. The term "private" distinguishes it from shared proxies, where many users simultaneously route traffic through the same IP. With a private proxy, you have the full bandwidth allocation, consistent latency, and — critically — sole responsibility for the IP's reputation. No other user can poison the IP with spammy or aggressive behaviour. Private proxies are preferred for sensitive tasks like account management, competitive intelligence, and data gathering from sites that track per-IP history closely.
