Datacenter Proxy

An IP address hosted on servers in a data center rather than assigned by an ISP — offering high speed and low cost, but easier for websites to detect.

Full Definition

A datacenter proxy is an IP address that belongs to a commercial hosting provider, cloud platform, or colocation facility rather than to a residential internet subscriber. Because datacenters own entire subnets of IP addresses and these ranges are publicly documented in ASN databases, websites can trivially identify and block them. However, datacenter proxies are significantly cheaper, faster, and more available than residential IPs. They are well-suited for targets with minimal bot protection, internal testing, accessing geo-restricted content, or high-volume, low-stakes tasks where occasional blocks are acceptable.
