A no-logs (or zero-logs) policy is a privacy commitment by a VPN or proxy provider that they do not collect, store, or share any logs of user activity — including connection timestamps, browsing history, originating IP addresses, or traffic content. The strength of this claim varies widely: some providers are independently audited, some operate under legal jurisdictions where data retention is mandatory, and others are simply marketing claims with no verification. For scraping and privacy use cases, a truly no-logs provider means your activity cannot be handed over to law enforcement or third parties even if the provider is served a legal request.
