A sticky session (also called a session proxy or pinned session) is a proxy setting that maintains the same outgoing IP address for a defined duration — typically 1, 10, 30, or 60 minutes — or until the session is manually reset. This is the opposite of per-request rotation. Sticky sessions are essential for workflows that require IP consistency: logging into an account (where a mid-session IP change looks suspicious), completing multi-step checkout flows, filling out forms across multiple pages, or maintaining a logged-in scraping session. Most backconnect proxy providers support sticky sessions by appending a session parameter to the proxy credentials.
