IPv6
The newest version of the Internet Protocol, created to replace IPv4 because the world ran out of addresses, offering a virtually unlimited supply of unique IPs.

IPv6 uses 128-bit addresses (written as eight groups of four hexadecimal digits, e.g. 2001:0db8:85a3::8a2e:0370:7334), providing 340 undecillion unique addresses — effectively unlimited. While internet infrastructure broadly supports IPv6, adoption has been uneven and many proxy providers still focus on IPv4. IPv6 proxies are cheaper because addresses are abundant, and they are less likely to be blocked by naive IP-based rules. However, IPv6 leaks through a VPN or proxy that only tunnels IPv4 are a common privacy hazard. Some scraping targets have inconsistent IPv6 support, requiring IPv4 fallback.
